Bottom Line: We All Live Off the Land!

Bottom line—whether or not it looks that way.

WE ALL LIVE OFF THE LAND

The only difference between us and our hunter-gatherer forebearers is that they SAW every bit of the give and take, and PARTICIPATED DIRECTLY in it, and we don’t—for us it’s all tidily out of sight and out of mind.

So, our first duty/job is being conscientious consumers is to GET aware, to find out where all our stuff comes from, and who has to suffer so that we can have it.

Not an easy job either.  It’s gotten so very complicated.  Just try to track down the ingredients of your last meal, or, if you really want a challenge, your TV.

By now everybody knows about “dolphin-safe tuna” (one of our peculiar cases of some-species-are-more-equal-than-others), and by the time you read this you likely have heard of turtle-safe-shrimp (another case of same, come to think of it).

Just think of all the hidden genocides we haven’t heard about.
